An American adventure story set in the 1950's that follows the life of Paul Barrett, a working class kid from Queens, New York who falls in love with the rodeo at a matinee performance in Madison Square Garden.

The story details Paul's freewheeling journey as he roams New England as a hired hand in wild west shows and rodeos in the days of Gene Autry and Roy Rogers.

It's a life where hard work and perseverance are relentlessly trumped by lady luck in determining Paul's fate and whether or not he can make his championship bullriding dreams come true.

In 1974, Congress established Section 8 of the Housing and Community Development Act. The main goal of this legislation was to ensure that very low-income families and the elderly could find decent, safe, sanitary housing and a suitable living environment outside of subsidized public housing projects. Section 8 housing is a federal housing assistance program that provides vouchers that cover all or a portion of the rent for very low-income families, the elderly and the disabled.

The Tyranny of Bridal Books
I just read an article in the New York Times that discussed the journey of most brides as they start down the path of planning their nuptials, and how they are besieged by hundreds of titles in the wedding section of the local bookstore. Most brides will spend $60-$200 on bridal advice books, but they're often left feeling confused by all the conflicting advice.
I'm reminded of an experience with a very young bride who was a school teacher. She fell in love with a local band that she and her fiancée would listen to at a chic beach hotel on the weekends. I got a call from her one Saturday afternoon, she wanted to discuss reception entertainment.
‘I really want to hire this band for my wedding reception, but the music is a bit quirky and off beat, and I just don’t know if it's appropriate, or if my guests would dance to it.” My advice to her (and to all of you) is to hire the band. Your wedding is about you. This incredibly special day should be filled with all the things you love. The guests at your wedding who really love you will REJOICE in that, and they will dance to any music that you and your fiancée adore.
